Challengers Love Twilight!

A few Challengers joined us for the Breaking Dawn movie last weekend.

There's another late start this Wednesday.  School begins at 10:00.
Students will go to Red 1 in the morning (until 11:19) and Red 2 in the afternoon (from 1:20-2:50)

Thanks to all that came out to parent teacher conferences in the last few weeks.  We enjoyed talking with all of you! 

Reminder: PTC

The first set of parent teacher conferences will be this Thursday, October 20th from 4-8pm.  Your student was sent home with a sign up form.  We hope to see as many of you there as possible!  Please bring along your student as well.  You can call us during team time (11:25-12:00 at 659-3200) if you have any questions.

Parent/Teacher Conferences

Greetings!  Parent teacher conferences are right around the corner.  They are scheduled for October 20th and October 25th.  Monday, your student will be sent home with a conference form.  Please read it carefully and choose the best time slots that work with your schedule.  If you can't make it, please call your student's blazertime teacher for a phone conference.  We look forward to meeting with you!  If your student has misplaced the form, you can find it on the team website under "team documents."

Sidewalk Chalk Needed- Can You Help?

We need sidewalk chalk (big sticks) for a project.  If you are willing to donate some, please send them with your student to his or her blazertime teacher.  Much thanks!

COPE Permission Form

Dear Parent/Guardian,

            Our seventh grade students have the opportunity to participate in the COPE (Communication Offers Positive Enrichment) Program which is sponsored each year by the Council for Drug Free Youth.  COPE is a day long program that allows students to learn more about themselves and others.  Communication and decision making skills will be emphasized that will help students make healthy choices for life.

            The COPE Program for the Challenger team will be held on October 10th and 11^th.  Because COPE is more effective with a smaller number of students, the program is being offered on two different dates with half of the students attending on the first date and the other half on the second date.  The program is being held at Capital West Christian Church on Fairgrounds Road, however, it should be emphasized that the program is sponsored through the Council for Drug Free Youth and has no affiliation with any religious organization. Transportation to and from the event will be provided by the school district.  A sack lunch from the LCMS cafeteria will also be provided and your child’s account will be charged for a daily lunch. 

            If you would like for your child to participate in the COPE program, please sign the attached form and have your student return it to their 1st Block/Red teacher.  If you have any questions concerning the COPE program, please contact the counseling office at 659-3216.

Team T-Shirt Order Form

Lewis and Clark is into Team Spirit! Again this year we will have grade-level competitions, spirit awards, team chants, and team T-shirts. PTO is helping with the cost which will make the t-shirts more affordable for all students. The price to each student is only $5.00. At this price, we are hoping all Challengers will be able to participate in the fun. Students will be asked to wear their team t-shirts for all assemblies, special activities, etc. Below is an order form that needs to be returned to your Red Block 1  teacher by September 23rd.

C.O.P.E Field Trip

If you are absent from school, please make sure you get all of the work that you missed.  We encourage you to start visiting your classes AS SOON as you come upstairs the next morning.  Bring your agenda and something to write with so you can record everything that you missed.  You are responsible for all work that you missed.  In addition, daily classwork and homework can be found on the Challenger webpage.  Click HERE to be brought to that page.  It's a great page to bookmark!

Sign and Return

Team t-shirt order forms went out on Friday.  A team t-shirt is an optional purchase.  If your student would like a t-shirt, please sign the form and send a check (to LCMS) or $5.00 to your student's blazertime teacher.  Please make sure to check the shirt SIZE.  The sizes are adult sizes only.

Tech Club

Mr. Luttrell and Mrs. Leary are sponsoring a tech club for students at LCMS.  This will be a great way for students to get familiar with many types of technology.  See your blazertime teacher for a permission slip.

Week 1 in Review

What a wonderful first week of school!  The Challenger teachers could not be more pleased with our team!  We have been particularly amazed by the behavior we have seen during assemblies.  Simply amazing!
